An experienced nonprofit executive is the new Membership Director for the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. Jami Gates started her new role with the Chamber on October 14.
Gates was most recently the Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sioux Empire from 2013-2019. She has also previously held positions with the American Cancer Society Midwest Division and Junior Achievement South Dakota. With nearly two decades in non-profit management, development and corporate relations, Gates is experienced in working with boards, volunteers and staff to achieve a goal.
"We are so pleased to welcome Jami to the Chamber team," said Chamber Interim President Dr. Dave Kapaska. "Serving members is at the center of everything the Chamber does, and Jami's track record in outreach, collaboration and management make her a great fit for this position."
Gates earned a B.A. in Business Management from University of Sioux Falls. She is a long-time community volunteer, currently serving as a Washington Pavilion Husby Performing Arts Center Board Member, Sanford Metro Consumer Advisory Council Member and has been teaching Junior Achievement in elementary school classrooms for 21 years.
