Mark McClung, Active Data Systems, and Mike Hauck, NAI Commercial Real Estate, were the Ambassador Team of the Month for February.
Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, was the Diplomat of the Month for February. Karen Noonan, Carriernet Group Financial, and Lisa Schultz, Midcontinent Business Solutions, tied for second place honors and Sonja Borchardt, Qwest Corporation, took third place honors for February. The February Diplomat Team of the Month includes: Captain Mary Johnson, Home Federal Bank; Lisa Schultz, Midcontinent Business Solutions; Bill Rezac, Boen & Associates, Inc.; Ryan White, Waddell & Reed, Inc.; and Kristina Wolfe, Travel Leaders.

LEADERSHIP

The Sioux Empire Society for Human Resource Management (SESHRM) announced its 2009 officers, which includes the following Chamber members: President Kimberly Olson; President-Elect Keri Hubers, L.G. Everist, Inc.; Secretary/Treasurer Gayle VerHey, Risk Administration Services; Past President Lisa Schenk, Great Western Bank. Following are the newly elected members of the SESHRM Board of Directors: Education Coordinator Jeri Jordan, Great Western Bank; Workforce Readiness Coordinator Kerri Severson, Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center; Student Coordinators Wendalynn Knecht, Home Federal Bank, and Maggie Owens, Human Capital Consultants. The following continue to serve on the SESHRM Board of Directors: Program Coordinators Barbara Cole, Beacom Schools of Business-USD, Student Coordinator Luann Schultz, Sanford Health; Membership Coordinator Jennifer Bryant, Holiday Inn City Centre; Diversity Coordinator Teresa Frederick, Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center; General Advisory Coordinator Karen O'Connor, Eide Bailly LLP; Legislative Coordinator Kerri Huber, JDS Industries; Workforce Readiness Coordinator Gregory Johnson, South Dakota Department of Labor; and Technology Coordinator David Vinzant, South Dakota Network, LLC.

Kilian Community College announced the following Board of Trustees officers for 2009, which includes the following Chamber members: Chairman Ken Berger, Wells Fargo Education Financial Services; Vice Chairman Dr. Randy Harkless, Citigroup; Secretary/Treasurer Dan LaRock, Silverstone Group; and Past Chair Anne Rieck McFarland, South Dakota Achieve.

The following people were elected to the following positions on the LifeLight Communications Board of Directors: Tom Gage as Chair; Jeff Brands as Treasurer; and Scott Weeldreyer re-elected as Secretary.

Honors in industry

Lorin Wilcox, Senior CAD Technician at Miller Sellers Heroux Architects, became a LEED Accredited Professional on March 6, 2009. Wilcox joined Miller Sellers Heroux Architects in 2005 and works primarily on churches, schools and residential projects. He has 12 years of professional experience in architectural drafting and design

NEW FACES/PROMOTIONS

Eide Bailly LLP promoted several staff members and hired new staff. Emma Tschetter, Eide Bailly Medical Practice Management, has been promoted to manager. Eide Bailly LLP welcomes Amy Davidson, Jerry Kyte, Ben Temple and Ann Schiefen as Audit Associates as well as Kelsey Gluf, Tax Associate. Jay Fullerton joins Eide Bailly Management Consulting and will be working out of the firm's Sioux Falls office.

Krista Orsack, a native of Sioux Falls and graduate from the University of Sioux Falls, is the Director of Sales & Marketing for the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Her previous work experience includes three years as Sales Manager for the Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau and most recently as Associate Account Executive with Lawrence & Schiller. Tyler Sharp, a native of the Sharp Ranch near Long Valley, SD and graduate of Augustana College, joins as the new Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Sharp's previous experience includes three years as Trade Sales Representative for the South Dakota Office of Tourism and most recently as Director of Marketing for the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science.

LifeLight Communications announced the following promotions: Julie Klinger, Festival Director, elected to the Christian Festivals Association (CFA) National Board of Directors; Kim Liedtke as Vice President of Administration/Pastoral Relations; and Josh Brewer as Missions & Outreach Director.

GOOD DEEDS

Bell Inc. donated a $100,000 gift to the Ronald McDonald House at Sanford Children's Hospital, where ground was broken in August 2008. The gift from Bell helps meet the growing needs of children and families all across South Dakota as they encounter difficult medical situations.
