“Success is a not a destination, it’s a journey.” Zig Ziglar
By almost any measure, Sioux Falls and our surrounding area has enjoyed a long run of success. Over the years, our well-diversified economy has led to consistent job growth. This job growth has led to a strong and steady growth in population, which in turn has led to an increased demand for goods and services, fueling even more job growth. And the cycle has continued year after year.
Each step along the way, we have worked diligently to improve the quality of life in our community through many programs and projects that have helped move our entire region forward. We have taken care of our own people by being one of the most caring and giving communities in the country as evidenced by the recent announcement that we have exceeded our $9.4 million Sioux Empire United Way campaign goal again this year — remarkable!
This issue of the Chamber News focuses on the continued success of our community and the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. There are many stories to share and it is good to see continued progress being made with many businesses and organizations throughout the Sioux Empire. Please take a moment to review some of the positive programs and projects being undertaken for our future.
But as Zig Ziglar reminds us, success is not a destination, it’s a journey. While we have enjoyed it throughout the years, success can be fleeting. The world around us is in a constant state of change, so it is critically important that we reinvest in ourselves, our businesses and organizations, and in our community and area in order to sustain our competitive edge.
The Sioux Falls Area Chamber is committed to helping us all do just that. I invite you to visit our website at www.siouxfallschamber.com to see the many ways your Chamber can help you in your own journey of success. In addition, I invite you pay a visit to the www.futuresiouxfalls.com website to see the latest updates on our long-term strategic economic development planning process. Remember, progress is everyone’s business.
