Mark McClung, Active Data Systems, Inc., and Mike Hauck, NAI Sioux Falls, were the Ambassador Team of the Month for April.
Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank, was the Diplomat of the Month for April. Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, took second place honors and David Johnson, DAKOTACARE, took third place honors for April. The April Diplomat Team of the Month includes: Captain Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club; Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank; Mike Teslow, Swenson Investments & Commodities and Uncle Ed's Specialty Meats; Wade Thomas, Dakota Lettering and Marshall Selberg, Key Real Estate.
The Chamber's Spring Membership Drive was a success. During the two-week drive, 56 new memberships were sold with a grand total of 99.5 new members who joined between Jan. 26-May 8. Team standings were as follows:

GOOD DEEDS
More than 1,600 people toured the Feature Home during the Spring Parade of Homes event presented by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire. The home raised $4,194.11 for the Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the HBASE. The 11,500 sq. ft. home built by Deffenbaugh Homes is located west of Hartford and valued at more than $2 million.
Hy-Vee Inc. gave $250,000 gift to the Great Plains Zoo and Delbridge Museum of Natural History to create the Hy-Vee Face-to-Face Farm in the area formerly known as the Children's Zoo. The Great Plains Zoo will use the contribution from Hy-Vee over five years to renovate existing buildings, add animals and colorful signage, and craft a fun, engaging area for families to experience nature. Hy-Vee's gift will help create hands-on displays and fun play structures, new and interesting educational signage, and make structural improvements to existing buildings.

Heather Solberg joined ADwërks as Director of Propaganda, responsible for media planning and buying as well as account service. Solberg is a Sioux Falls native and holds a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University and a master's degree from the University of South Dakota.Â
Eide Bailly LLP, promoted Julie Kafka and John Magnuson to partner in its Sioux Falls office. Kafka joined Eide Bailly in 1993 and is a graduate of Augustana College. She provides assurance and tax services, focusing on clients in the real estate and affordable housing industries, and also works with nonprofit organizations. Magnuson joined the firm in 2004 and is a graduate of Dana College in Blair, Neb. His practice emphasis includes general business planning, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning, transaction structuring, and qualified and non-qualified retirement plan design. HONORS IN INDUSTRY
Seven Chamber members have earned distinction as Certified Green Professionals (CGP) through the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE), which is now affiliated with the NAHB National Green Building Program, or NAHBGreen. To qualify for NAHB Green certification, projects must meet energy-efficient benchmarks at least 15 percent more stringent than most building codes - or equivalent to the voluntary Energy Star program from the U.S. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency. The members who have reached this distinction include: Beatch Construction LLC; Brooks Construction Services; Home Tech, Inc.; Builders Millwork & Window; and Jarrod Smart Construction Co. The Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE) is now affiliated with the NAHB National Green Building Program, or NAHBGreen. As an affiliate program, HBASE will offer national veri fication and certi fication services to homebuilders, remodelers and developers in the Sioux Empire, assuring buyers that their homes meet the strict benchmarks established by NAHBGreen.

AWARDS
Insight Marketing Design received a Bronze Summit Award and a Silver Summit Award from Summit International Awards. The Summit Creative Award was created to recognize and celebrate the creative accomplishments of small and medium sized advertising agencies and other creative companies throughout the world with annual billings of under $30 million.
Once Upon A Child in Sioux Falls was recognized for achieving a "Gold Standard" measurement. The Gold Standard is reached when a store achieves a set of standards set forth by the franchisor during the evaluation process. The Sioux Falls store achieved the customer experience, store operations and consistent brand identity to earn Gold Standard recognition in 2009.
Signs Plus+ Graphics is one of 97 companies nationwide and the only company in South Dakota to be certified by 3M and the United Applications Standard Group for quality vehicle graphics, floor graphics and wall mural graphic installations. The UASG is the country's leading group of professional graphic installers.
The University of South Dakota Student Bar Association selected Richard O. Gregerson, Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith, P.C., to receive the 2009 Marshall M. McKusick Award. The McKusick Award is presented annually to an outstanding member of the South Dakota Bar for contributions to the legal profession.
