Chamber's community leadership program
plans 24th year
The Chamber's community leadership program, Leadership Sioux Falls, was designed by the Chamber more than 25 years ago to meet the community's need for active participation of informed and dedicated community leaders. The goal of the program is to inform, challenge and motivate participants by providing information on community resources, identifying community concerns; interacting with community leaders; and building a sense of community trusteeship.
Leadership Sioux Falls is open to all people who live or work in the Sioux Falls area. Each year, 30 individuals are selected (from an average of 65 applications) representing a cross-section of businesses, professions, organizations, government and education. These individuals have shown an interest in shaping the community's future and are community-minded, committed citizens.
About to enter its 24th year, planning is underway for the next Leadership Sioux Falls class. Each year, the program consists of eight monthly sessions that cover a diverse range of community-related topics including: economic development, government, health care, community history, education, human services, arts and culture, quality of life, ethics, and leadership styles. Exact dates will be determined as part of the planning process.
The right people are any business's or organization's most important asset; the same holds true for communities. Those who participate in Leadership Sioux Falls help shape the region's future and are the "right people" for the community and become an invaluable resource for the entire Sioux Falls region.
If you have an interest in increasing your knowledge of the dynamic issues facing the community and learn how you can expand your opportunities for leadership, consider applying for Leadership Sioux Falls.
