The January Ambassador Team of the Month was Carol Jandera and Ritch Noble, McKinney Olson Insurance.
Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank, was named the January Diplomat of the Month. Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, took second place honors and Tammy Beintema, MSH Architects, took third place honors. Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA, was the Reinvestment Blitz Winner for January. The January Diplomat Team of the Month included: Captain Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club; Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank; Jill Melchert, Farmers Insurance Group-Jill Melchert Agency; Wendy Bergan, YMCA; and Janel Cole, Postnet SD 103.

NEW FACES & PROMOTIONS
John Berdahl, MD has been named Associate Medical Director of the South Dakota Lions Eye Bank. Berdahl will work with Medical Director Byron Hohm, MD, and the Medical Advisory Committee to ensure the safety and effectiveness of corneal tissue for transplants provided by the South Dakota Lions Eye Bank in South Dakota and across the nation. Ophthalmologist Vance Thompson, MD will be stepping down as Associate Medical Director after many years of strong support for the Lions Eye Bank.
Bret Newton joined High Point Networks, Inc., as an Account Manager focused on voice and data network solutions. Newton has 10 years combined experience as a Systems Engineer and Account Manager. Scott LaGrange joined High Point Networks, Inc., as a Network Engineer focused on ShoreTel solutions. LaGrange is a former Marine with 15 years experience in the IT industry.

The Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society welcomed three new board members to serve a three-year term with the Board of Directors: Mary Sand, Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health System; Todd Hopkins, Cortrust Bank; and Comet Haraldson, Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith P.C.

AWARDS
Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Evan Nolte received the Spirit of Downtown award at the Downtown Sioux Falls Annual Meeting. The Spirit of Downtown Award recognizes individuals who have a passion for downtown Sioux Falls and for their impact on the downtown area. The award has been given since 1989.
Mark Johnson, a producer at HenkinSchultz Communication Arts, has been named the 2009 Creative Legacy Award recipient by the South Dakota Advertising Federation (SDAF). The Creative Legacy Award recognizes individuals in the local advertising community who have set the standard for creative accomplishment within the industry, achieved an impressive body of work in their career, and served as a mentor or inspiration to co-workers. Scott Lawrence, President & CEO of Lawrence & Schiller, was named the 2009 Silver Medal Award recipient by SDAF. The Silver Medal Award recognizes individuals who have made contributions to their company, shown creative ability, made contributions to the general advancement of advertising and made contributions to the community. The Creative Legacy Award and the Silver Medal Award will be presented at the 44th Annual ADDY® Awards.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls and Habitat’s ReStore congratulates Jack Helin and Pat Curtis on being named the winners of its 2009 Volunteer of the Year awards.
