Leadership Sioux Falls to graduate 24th class

Leadership Sioux Falls 24 Graduates The 24th annual class of Leadership Sioux Falls will hold its traditional graduation banquet on Wednesday, May 5 at Callaway's. Bob Sutton, president of the South Dakota Community Foundation, will address graduates and their guests.
The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce continues to sponsor this community leadership development program designed to meet the need for active participation of informed and dedicated community leaders. The main objectives of the program are: to inform and motivate potential leaders by providing information on community resources; to identify community issues and challenges; to interact with other community leaders; and to gain a sense of community trusteeship.
Leadership Sioux Falls sessions are held monthly, October through May, at various times and locations in the community. Topics at each session change as the issues, challenges and opportunities change. Core topics covered each year include the business of healthcare, government, economic development, law enforcement, human services, education, non-profit volunteerism, media and quality of life issues. Each class also participates in the development and review of a timeline/history of Sioux Falls. Personal growth is encouraged through the development of leadership styles.
The quality of the participants is the true strength of the Leadership Sioux Falls program. They represent the public and private sectors and civic and community organizations in the Sioux Falls area. Admission to the program is very competitive. This year's participants were chose from 80 applications. Due to the nature of the program, class size is limited to 30 participants each year.
For more information on the next class, which will begin in October 2010, contact Kate Foley at (605) 373-2002 or via email. Applications will also be available at www.siouxfallschamber.com beginning in July 2010.
