Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, was named the March Diplomat of the Month. David Johnson, DAKOTACARE, took second place honors and Karen Noonan, Carriernet Financial Group, took third place honors. Wendy Bergan, YMCA, and Sandy Case, U.S. Postal Service, were the Reinvestment Blitz Winners for March. The March Diplomat Team of the Month included: Captain Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club; Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank; Jill Melchert, Farmers Insurance Group-Jill Melchert Agency; Wendy Bergan, YMCA; and Janel Cole, Postnet SD 103.

The following Chamber members were recognized for their volunteer efforts at the Agri-Business Division Annual Meeting: Volunteers of the Year were Scott Wick, Harrisburg School District; Tate Thorstenson, Dacotah Bank; and Mike Siemonsma, First Bank and Trust. The Rookie of the year was Greg Anderson, Wells Fargo Bank. The Old Timer of the Year was Jerry Beckler, Farm Credit Services of America.

NEW FACES & PROMOTIONS

Ryan Bak recently joined the Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau as the Sports and Events Sales Manager. Bak is a University of South Dakota graduate and comes to the CVB from KSFY Television, where he worked as an Account Executive.

Joni Johnson is the new Sales Specialist for McKerin Software, Inc. Johnson has two years of sales experience. Mikel Finch is the new Senior Solutions Architect and has more than 14 years experience. He has a bachelor's degree in computer science.

DooGooders expanded its DooCrew by hiring Matt Steever as its new Senior Number Two Doologist. Steever brings almost 15 dog years of experience to DooGooders.

Widseth Smith Nolting recently welcomed Joe Breiter to the firm. As business development director, Breiter leads WSN's marketing department and spearheads development and implementation of long-range strategies for all eight offices. Breiter has 20 years of marketing communications experience in the architecture, engineering, construction, government, healthcare and human services industries. WSN is a multi-disciplined firm of more than 140 employees providing architectural, engineering, land surveying and environmental services. Its offices are located in Alexandria, Bemidji, Brainerd/Baxter, Crookston, Red Wing, and Rochester, Minn.; Grand Forks, N.D.; and Sioux Falls.

Eide Bailly LLP promoted Susan Hanson and Ryan Doyle to partner. Hanson specializes in audits of employee benefit plans and provides tax and assurance services to clients in the wholesale and real estate industries. Doyle provides assurance, tax and consulting services and has significant experience working with clients in the ag processing, renewable energy and manufacturing sectors. In addition, Eide Bailly welcomed Austin Willuweit, audit senior associate; Adam Findell, audit senior associate: Erica Bjerrum, tax associate; and Matt Finnegan, audit associate.

HOnors in Industry

RSA's Dani Heider was recently elected to the U.S. Green Building Council-South Dakota Organzing Group Board of Directors (USGBC). The USGBC-South Dakota Chapter will help raise awareness about ‘green building' in our region and will provide excellent networking opportunities for individuals and companies interested in sustainable technology.

AWARDS

Insight Marketing Design received three awards at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 8 ADDY competition for work completed in 2009. The Launch board game, developed by Insight as a gift for clients, received a Gold Award. It now competes nationally at the AAF National ADDY Awards competition. Insight Marketing Design also received two Silver ADDYs. AAF District 8 consists of South Dakota, North Dakota, parts of Wisconsin.

Name Change

Midco Call Center has changed its name to Midco Connections, effective April 1, 2010. The new name reflects the company's expanded product offerings and services that address the changing client needs in the contact center marketplace.
