New BID enables CVB to promote the community A new fee paid by visitors will help boost the marketing reach of the Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau, which will mean more dollars in the community by increased visitor traffic and more room nights in Sioux Falls hotels.
After months of preparation work by local visitor industry representatives, the BID (Business Improvement District) fee went into effect in January 2011. The fee is a $2 per room, per night charge for hotel guests staying in Sioux Falls properties with more than 40 rooms. The fees collected will be used by the CVB to promote Sioux Falls. A BID Board of Directors oversees the money collected through the BID.
