Leadership Sioux Falls graduates 23rd class

The 23rd annual class of Leadership Sioux Falls will hold its graduation banquet Wednesday, May 6 at Minnehaha Country Club. Dakota State University President Dr. Douglas Knowlton will be the featured speaker.

Leadership Sioux Falls is a program of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce designed to meet the community's need for active participation of informed and dedicated community leaders. The goal of the program is to inform, challenge and motivate potential leaders by providing information on community resources; identifying community concerns; interacting with community leaders; and gaining a sense of community trusteeship.

Throughout an eight-month period, LSF program participants are given an in-depth look at specific topics of community interest and importance through a series of sessions. The topics change as the issues, challenges and opportunities of the community change. Personal growth is encouraged through the development of leadership styles.

The quality of the participants is the true strength of the program. They represent public and private sectors and civic and community organizations in the Sioux Falls area. Admission to the program is competitive. This year's participants were chosen from 64 applicants.
