The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will market its programs during the Fall Membership Drive Oct. 30-Nov. 13. Led by the Chamber's Ambassador Committee, more than 85 volunteers will identify non-members, make contacts and sell the benefits of Chamber membership. The Ambassador Committee wishes to add 90 new businesses and organizations to its membership during the two-week event.
From marketing and networking opportunities, to being informed on issues as a business owner in the community, Chamber membership is a benefit to all. Chamber members are essential to the growth and success of the business climate in Sioux Falls.
This year's theme, SPOOK-TACULAR Benefits, focuses on the tangible and intangible Chamber benefits. When an organization/business becomes a member, they have the opportunity to use a variety of media outlets to be seen and heard through tangible marketing packages. Members can attend the many events hosted by the Chamber at discounted member prices as well as a chance to join a Chamber committee. For members who may be unable to attend or participate in these events, their financial investment assists the Chamber in creating a better quality of life for all.
In fact, a national study by Atlanta-based market research firm The Schapiro Group shows that positive perception increases among consumers and business owners when a business is identified as a Chamber member. Regarding the Chamber's impact on the local economy, 82 percent of respondents believed that the local Chamber of Commerce helps create jobs and promotes local economic development. The study also showed that when consumers know a business is a Chamber member, they are 44 percent more likely to think favorably about it, 51 percent more likely to be highly aware of it and 57 percent more likely to think positively of its local reputation. Consumers are 63 percent more likely to buy goods and services in the future from a company they believe is a member.
