19th Annual Operation Thank You event this month

Approximately 300 volunteers will hit the streets Wednesday, Oct. 28 to hand-deliver the 2009-10 Chamber Membership Directory and Sioux Falls Community Guide and the

2008-09 Annual Report during the 19th Annual Operation Thank You.
Volunteers will call on more than 2,000 Sioux Falls area businesses to deliver the publications and thank them for their membership. The event is held annually and is sponsored by the Diplomat Committee, which is the servicing arm of the Chamber.

"Now, more than ever, it's important for us to thank the many members of the Chamber who together present a unified voice in promoting our city and moving it forward in a progressive manner," said event chair Sandy Case, U.S. Postal Service. "It's a great opportunity to talk to our members and ensure that we are meeting the needs and wants of the membership."

Members will be asked to rate various aspects the Chamber and share feedback with 2009-10 Chair of the Board Dave Rozenboom, U.S. Bank, by completing the "Dear Dave" questionnaire card included with their other print materials. Members can also complete an online questionnaire, which will be emailed to Chamber member business/organizations' main contacts that same day.

The Sioux Falls Community Guide is targeted to people considering relocation to Sioux Falls, and also to businesses seeking community information for marketing and expansion purposes. It contains information pertaining to transportation, career opportunities, education, housing, health care, arts and culture, area attractions and sports and recreation, as well as demographic information relative to living in the Sioux Falls community.

The Chamber's Membership Directory contains a listing of all Chamber members with contact names and address, phone and fax numbers, and email and web site addresses. Members are also encouraged to use the Buyer's Guide portion of the publication when shopping for products and services.

The 2008-09 Annual Report details the Chamber activities from the past year and looks ahead to the 2009-10 Chamber year, which started Oct. 1. The report will initially be distributed at the 103rd Annual Meeting on Oct. 20.
