Chamber program to discuss Mayoral candidates, summer road construction projects

Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce members will have the opportunity to learn more about upcoming road construction projects and hear from the two runoff candidates for Mayor at the Tuesday, April 20 Good Morning Sioux Falls program.

Good Morning Sioux Falls will be held in the Holiday Inn City Centre International Room. The program begins at 7 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 8:30 a.m. Tom Hanson, KDLT TV News Anchor, will serve as the host and moderator for the morning mixer. More than 200 people are expected to attend.

Hanson will lead a discussion about summer construction projects with City Planning Director Mike Cooper, City Public Works Director Mark Cotter and South Dakota Department of Transportation Engineer Craig Smith. This annual segment will discuss how summer road construction projects will affect business, home, recreation or commutes to work.

In addition, Hanson will also lead a question and answer session with runoff Mayoral candidates Kermit Staggers and Mike Huether. Staggers and Huether emerged as the top two vote-getters in the April 13 municipal election; the runoff election will be held Tuesday, April 27. The newly elected City Council and Sioux Falls School Board members will also be introduced.

The cost is $20 per person for Chamber members or $40 per person for non-Chamber members, which includes breakfast. RSVP to Pat Lund at 605.373.2014 or plund@siouxfalls.com.
