Mayoral Candidate Forum this Saturday

The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Young Professionals Network and the League of Women Voters are co-sponsoring several forums for the upcoming April 13 election for Sioux Falls School Board, Sioux Falls City Council and Sioux Falls Mayor.

 

Six candidates are seeking the office of Mayor. They have all been invited to attend a candidate forum Saturday, March 20 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Carnegie Town Hall (235 W. 10th St.). This forum will also air live on CityLink (cable channel 16) and will be rebroadcast several times prior to the election (see dates and times below). Candidates will be asked questions submitted through a moderator.

 

The candidate forums are free and open to the public and are meant to educate local voters on candidates seeking public office. Closed captioning or interpreters provided by Communication Services for the Deaf will be available for the hearing impaired. Individuals needing assistance, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, should call 605.336.1620 in advance of the event to make any necessary arrangements.

Upcoming forums:
Sioux Falls City Council, At-Large A and At-Large B: Saturday, March 27 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Carnegie Town Hall

Sioux Falls City Council, Central/Southeastern District Candidate Forum: Saturday, March 27 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall (235 W. 10th St.)

Sioux Falls School Board: Thursday, April 1 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Instructional Planning Center (201 E. 38th St.).

Rebroadcast dates:
The Mayoral, Council At-Large, and Council District Forums will be rebroadcast consecutively on the following dates: Mondays: March 29, April 5 and April 12, starting at 9 a.m.; Fridays, April 2 and 9, starting at 9 a.m.; and Sundays, April 4 and 11, starting at 9 a.m.

The School Board Candidate Forum will be broadcast live on KLRN (cable channel 20) and rebroadcast dates will be announced shortly.
