City of festivals, fairs & events
Sioux Falls continues to grow in popularity as a host city for annual festivals and new events. Festivals find homes across the city — at soccer fields, fairgrounds and on downtown streets.
These annual events also have an impact on the city's economy and the quality of life for residents. Several events serve as major fundraisers for non-profit organizations in the community.
For events like Hot Harley Nights, which started out 19 years ago with 250 participants and a handful of enthusiastic volunteers, this year's event could bring approximately 40,000 enthusiasts from across the U.S. and Canada to Sioux Falls. Since its inception, more than $1.8 million has been raised for Make-A-Wish South Dakota.

Shared vision promotes progress in Sioux Falls One of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber's of Commerce unique strengths is our ability to convene all the right people needed to develop and implement a shared vision for our community. The people gathered around the table each month at our board of directors meetings represent businesses of all sizes and key economic sectors as well as our local government entities. At these meetings we talk about our community's successes, we share challenges and we discuss how we can enhance our community and our organization for our members.
We've been told by other communities that Sioux Falls' and South Dakota's strong fiscal management and tax structure enables us to do things that others can't. In fact, community leaders from Billings, Mont, who recently visited Sioux Falls, repeated that over and over throughout their whirlwind tour of our city.
